DAY TWO: AUGUST 4TH 2009

Today Brise and Vinze started gathering information for their History Projects. They will be making a Lapbook about the early American Colonies. They will include information through the Boston Tea Party and the Intolerable acts.

The pink lapbook picture below is placed in this post as an example of a lapbook. I highly doubt our boys will pick pink as their primary color.

Brise and Vinze took the brainpop.com quiz about the colonies and earned a 10/10.

They re-wrote their essays from yesterday and turned them in to be put into their "works kept" folders. (Works Kept are folders that hold all of the work I want to keep for the year)

Brise did a multiplication/division worksheet and a "decoding" worksheet from EdHelper.com.

Vinze's worksheets were addition and decoding. They both had their first Sign Language lesson (alphabet) and Italian lesson. (10 common phrases and the alphabet sounds A-H) They also completed their states and typing lessons online.

Daxx and Kole read the book "Go, Go, Go," Studied their Dolch Flashcards, sang the alphabet, reviewed the alphabet and numbers flash cards, wrote their full name and worked in their Language and Math Lifepacs.

I took a picture of our dining room table, as it was, at recess....alone and waiting.

During Recess/Lunch I looked outside to find Kazz revisiting his old fencing gear. After taking a few pictures I had the gear put up and away from tiny hands.

After school the neighborhood kids descended upon our home. There were 6 other kids hanging around until well after six o'clock tonight. Tomorrow is "Homeschool Park Day." Wednesday's are half days of work at home and the other half is play with friends. I love park days because I get to talk with other homeschooling mom's, hang out and laugh a lot while the kids have a ball with their friends. It's a wonderful mid-week pick-me-up! :o)

See you tomorrow!
